Aurora Borealis 101 - in Reykjavik 101, on the 1st evening here. Who woulda thunk? :)
In reality they were a lot less clear; at first I thought they might've been smoke or cloud trails, kinda Milky Way-ish, cloudy, greyish. But a 20" exposure brings out better the expected borealisness. And between taking pictures of glacially changing grayness, I saw awesome rapid-fire wave-like ripples thru a good portion of the heavens!
Waiting for day 2 ;)

New Year's Light Show

We kinda missed the fireworks this year, as we were crashing a party one floor down from Andrea&Jacqui's. Some pop tarts were singing and shaking on the Telly, and a lit ball was dropped. Some neighbors set off pretty loud fireworks, but we didn't see the main gig.
A different kind of light show was visible at a co-worker's Eve's Eve Party. Here Erik and I duke it out with the host's light sabers, very nice replicas of various Star Wars sabers. The red one is Darth Maul's double bladed job. Man, we shoulda had these when we were wee kids! :) Thanks for Charles for letting us play on the roof!!

With that, I think it's time to close shop here at the Gazette! New year, new tricks, Olde Continent, you know. Thanks for reading. It's been fun exploring NYC and the North-East. And, another Gazette might surface sometime, somewhere; who knows. Meanwhile, I wish y'all a kick-ass 007 and beyond ;D

Peace
