Hunter

Last weekend we headed up to Hunter w/ a couple of friends. The weather was sunny and nicely cold, but the 'blizzard' of week before hadn't helped the snow situation much. Seems like a very low-snow season this year, so forest runs have been out of question. Bummer. Anyway, did some decent on-slope skiing, until I fell & popped my knee somewhat. I was able to walk out of the mountain first aid, but did not ski the second day. We stayed in a friend's friend's house some 15min from the slopes :) Sunday was also sunny & cold. Overall the trip went well, and the knee was getting better over the next couple of days. But I guess it got loosened, because later in the week, I retwisted it, this time a lot more painfully. X-rays showed that the bones are OK, but the orthopedic says it looks like some ligaments were fucked up :( Yesterday I went to an MRI scan: a big machine that sounds like an asphalt drill ;) I'll see the orthopedic again in a few days. Meanwhile I'll hobble around, take some Vicodin, and take it easy, watch a lot of Buffy. And of course the olympic hockey final, Finland-Sweden.
Moral of the story? Shit happens when you're having fun! >;)
