Trippin' in Maine
This past weekend was a little bit too hectic R&R trip to Maine, to wittness Julie&Rob's holy matrimony.
We left NYC Friday nite, stopped en route north of Bosstones, and got to Fryeburg / Lake Kezar by early Sat afternoon. Then it was pretty much eating, swimming, drinking & chillin until Monday morning. Most of Monday was spent on the road, barely making it to car rental on time...
Pre-wedding party at the Bride's parents' lake house on Lake Kezar. According to legend, the dragonflys brought in by the father multiplied quickly, and have kept the place mosquito-free ever since. Which was nice.
Some neighbors came to pick us up in a 'Party Barge', basically a plush platform on pontoons, with a motor. Anyway, accross the lake we got to play some beach volley. From distance, the scenery does look like Finland. But the high hills look out of place, and on a closer look the flora is clearly different. After all, Fryeburg is on 45th, Helsinki on 60th parallel...
Here on right, Le Bruno & Mac practice a bit, after suffering a humiliating defeat in the previous set...
By the wedding time, my camera was seriously running out of juice. Note to self: bring charger along! But here's a glimpse of the happy couple, and the somewhat creepy (he was catholic, after all >;) priest. Live long & prosper. So long, and thanks for all the fish! And a great weekend!
