It's autumnish
Öysters!! Here we are at an annual Oyster Fest in (conveniently) Oyster Bay, a quaint little town up-state. Or up-Island, to be more precise, about 1.5h from The City, along Long Island Bay. The day was pleasant, the town was full of festival revelers, and the oysters were damn good! ;)
The concert calendar this fall has been quite busy, with CBGB's, and then a couple of excellent shows at Roseland. Plus this weekend the Knitting Factory will host 3 whole floors of ska...
Here's some olde AIR95 alumni. Dan was in town (read: couch surfing at my place) to search employment and accommodations. He found both, and will start in November. Another greenhorn in the City! We also met up with Masa, the designer of Staten Island's 9/11 memorial (a pic here)
And finally, my brand-spanking-new knee brace for sports. They charged $1250* for this, while you can buy it online for <$500! But what do I care, since the insurance covers it all! I'm planning to try some light frisbee tossing tomorrow, not all-out ultimate yet. But getting there :)
*For that price, one would hope they'd do something about the rather nasty chafing behind the knee!! ;P
Happy halloween etc!
peace
