Philly

For Labor Day, I headed down to Philly. With a Chinatown bus, I was able to take my bike with, and cover a good deal of ground in few hours.
First stop was the South Street area. I've got to say it was nice, lively, hip, but not in the slightly contrieved yuppish way some hip areas. Buildings were nice, generally small brown brick. Took me a while to realise why they look funny: they had no visible foundation, but rather the brick continues all the way to the sidewalk. More recent houses also were generally made of brick in the same spirit, although features were more streamlined.
(WtF, I'm having some trouble uploading pics :(
Anyway, 'twas a nice day to ride around the river, Delaware I believe, with nice frat-style boating houses along the riverbank. And there was a grand boulevard from the City Hall to the Art Museum. Rocky run up the Museum steps in the 1st movie...
A nice city, overall. Worth going down for a day, crabbing some Philly Cheesesteak for lunch, walking around a bit :)

Keep it kool, y'all.
